Prabal Gurung who did his Fashion Design diploma from NIFT Delhi was pipped to be the winner of 2010 CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Award in the womenswear category but unfortunately he had to settle for a joint runners-up title with Eddie Borgo.
However since the Prize money was increased, both Prabal and Eddie got to take home $100,000 each. Now that’s a good amount, right??? Besides the money and the prestige, the winners also get a year of mentorship from the Gurus of the Industry and get to design Limited edition for GAP. They also got some advise from Czar Karl Lagerfeld!
Prabal Gurung had earlier stated that if he won the award, he would launch his resort collection and pre – fall collection. Gurung also wants to get in to E Commerce. So that’s good news for fashionistas here who likes Prabal Gurung’s look as they can shop for them On-Line. Way to go Prabal!
