Rahul Mishra To Sue Vero Moda For COPYING

High Street fashion labels are notorious for copying styles, prints and silhouettes from big designer labels and flood the market with cheap knock-offs. Top Indian designer, Rahul Mishra is the latest victim of blatant plagiarism indulged  in by the Denmark based clothing company – Bestsellers that own brands like Vero Moda, Only and Jack & Jones.

The blatant copied version of Rahul Mishra’s white top paired with bottom from his spring-summer 2017 collection is currently being retailed by Vero Moda, both online and through brick & mortar stores The duplicacy is shamelessly near 100%. The ruffles around the armhole and the embroidery on the bodice are replica.

Rahul Mishra’s legal team in India and Paris have already issued a legal notice to the parent company of Vero Moda in Denmark. The copied dress was showcased by Rahul Mishra in Paris in October 2016 in his spring-summer 2017 collection. The Vero Moda knock-off is still available online.

PS: It’s pathetic to discover that Times of India has copied this story without giving due acknowledgement to the source of the story. The dichotomy is – a story on plagiarism of design is plagiarised!!!
