Bosnian model Andrej Pejic is a “rising star” in the fashion industry — just landed an ad campaign for Jean Paul Gaultier. With long blond hair and a square jaw, Pejic resembles Karolina Kurkova… but wait, Pejic is a guy, a male who has been modelling as a female. In fact he modelled alongside Karolina Kurkova. Pejic’s striking androgynous look has been embraced by fashion’s most creative forces, with French Vogue editor-in-chief Carine Roitfeld and leading photographer Steven Meisel among his champions. He walked the Gaultier show during Paris Fashion Week in June and also strode the catwalk for John Galliano. Andrej Pejic has also been signed up by a top menswear label to do the Ad Campaign. Probably with that, Pejic will create history – modelling as a man and as a woman, too!
No doubt, New York Times called the Year 2010 as The Year of the Transexual!
