Fashion World’s ‘Punk Queen’ – Vivienne Westwood’s son, Ben Westwood has turned designer. Earlier he earned fame as an Erotic Photographer. But this is not the big news. The news is that Ben has roped in Julian Assange of Wikileaks to model for his collection during the London Fashion Week in September. Since Assange is holed up in the Ecuador Embassy in London, the showing by Ben Westwood has to happen there.
Indian designers cannot think beyond film stars as show-stoppers. Ben has already grabbed the attention of the global media by getting Assange to model for him. It is definitely a strategic move to make news. His mother Vivienne is also a keen supporter of Assange, and wore a T-shirt with the slogan “I am Julian Assange” when she paid him a visit at the embassy in 2012. This must have helped Ben to rope in Assange.
Ben Westwood’s collection is based on Clint Eastwood’s classic movie – The Good, The Bad And The Ugly. Ben stated, “I want to highlight Julian Assange’s plight. What happened to him is totally unfair. I’ve designed something for him along those lines [inspired by The Good, The Bad And The Ugly] and will be getting him to wear it.” Also expected at the show are George Clooney and his lawyer fiancée, Amal Alamuddin – who was part of Assange’s defense team, ace movie-maker, Oliver Stone and Lady Gaga.

Maybe i have seen too many movies but there just may be MI5 or NSA agents in the audience who will grab him and get him out of the embassy ……. I wonder if Assange thinks this is a another conspiracy …lol
