Last I met designer Reynu Taandon at the Stardust Party in Delhi. She was heading off to Paris for Pret-a-Porter. Now I chanced upon this poster by “All India General Mazdoor Trade Union (Regd.) ATUC” that claims that workers are getting a raw-deal from Reynu and Sunil Tandon of Mynah Designs. Click on the image below to see the enlarged view:
I don’t want to make a comment based on this poster stuck on a wall. Would like to have Reynu’s view definitely. But yes I would like to say that lately few more designers are in trouble for unpaid dues, labour grievances and even rental defaults. I thought ‘Downturn’ was over and Desi consumers are back to voracious ways

In a growing business, where hundreds of workers work in unity most of the times, odd disagreement with any worker is but natural. I am grateful that they are helping me in fulfilling my dreams.
All designers and factory owners are aware that such incidents keep happening and it’s a common problem faced by growing companies.
I am surprised that an insignificant incident, which we were unaware off, has been highlighted. If there is any wrong doing on our part, we are subjected to the concerned labour office and investigation.
In any case, Mynah values the contribution of our team and only believes in maintaining healthy relationship with all workforce.

no big deal all factory goes through such problem….

jack dont go with the words of the labour,,, they are a real pain,,, we give them everything but they come in the influence of union leaders, who want the owners to bribe them,, and if u dont do this,,, then they blackmail u and torture u through workers, …this is the biggest problem specially with the deisgners, as they feel designers make a lot of money, but they dont know the overheads..even we are going through all this.. my full support is with reynu…
