PRABAL GURUNG is New York’s ‘IT’ Designer

I think Prabal Gurung’s spring 2012 collection was his best so far. The clothes were nuanced, more subtle than his usual bold solid-colour and this time around Gurung took more risks. He worked with a print maker to cover his lilac colored collection in pixelated (though we have seen Pratap using pixelated technique almost a year back) floral digital prints. Flouncy flared silk dresses were sexed up with sheer tulle inserts but in a subtle provocative way. The most interesting looks were bound up in delicate rope harnesses. I am sure that Gurung’s solid colored floor-length numbers will be omnipresent on the red-carpets.

Sarah Jessica Parker–his biggest fan of late–was absent at Prabal Gurung’s Spring 2012 show at New York Fashion Week. But if SJP continues with her red carpet devotion to Gurung through spring 2012 she’ll be updating her look with sophisticated, subversively sexy dresses. Nicki Minaj and Amanda Seyfried though graced the front-row.

Love love love PG! He’s been a sensation for quite a while. what all the fancy Indian designers couldn’t do has been done by a humble guy from Nepal. He’ll go places! Kudos and good luck to him!

  2. Undeniably believe that which you stated. Your favorite reason appeared to be on the internet the simplest thing to be aware of. I say to you, I certainly get annoyed while people think about worries that they plainly do not know about. You managed to hit the nail upon the top as well as defined out the whole thing without having side-effects , people can take a signal. Will probably be back to get more. Thanks
